I’ve Got To Make It To The Screening

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009 by Reel Marla

I went to a screening to see Funny People and I was hard pressed for time. I drove across town jamming to my music. The beats were pumping, then…I say then…the dreaded traffic jam totally stopped me in my jam mode. There was 2 miles of non-stop traffic. I was hoping I wouldn’t be late because you see; Marla had to stop for gas. My gas light came on blinking like one of those cartoon animals that saw its first crush. You know the ones, when the female has really long eyelashes and big giant eyeballs. That’s how the light was blanking. I also had a date with Chick-Filet. I knew I had to get to the screening early or I’d be stuck sitting in the front row with my head cocked back and my neck aching something fierce.

So, I made it through the traffic with some time to spear. I went through the drive-up window, ordered me some yummy nuggets and waffle fries. I ate the fries in my car and put the nuggets in the “big” purse I brought. Yes, I know that’s so bad.

I tried to be discreet when I went in the theater and sat down, but the chicken aroma was saying hellooooo to the people around me. So, I grabbed them out of my purse and ate them one by one. Yes, people were staring. I was a little embarrassed because I don’t usually do that. I was just so hungry and had no time to eat dinner. I was wondering if everyone was staring at me because it seemed so uncouth or they were all googly-eyed because they wanted some too and wished they had done the same.
