Fast and Furious

The film is great action and nothing too else. That's all it really needs to be with the great original cast.

Review

Lots of action. Lots of good looking people. Lots of unrealistic moments. What can one expect from the fourth installment of The Fast & The Furious franchise? All I really cared about was seeing the original cast again. I waited years for them to come back. These are truly some likable characters. I know it’s true when any time these people are crooked as the day is long, but I don’t ever want them to get caught.

I know this movie is going to make a lot of cheddar because I’m not the only person who was looking forward to it coming out after seeing a great trailer for it several months ago.

Anyhoo, two bitter rivals, Dom Torretto (Vin Diesel, Babylon A.D.) and Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker, Running Scared) team up to take down a mutual enemy. They both go undercover to get close to a big drug lord and murderer named Braga by racing cars to perfection for a serious job.

Vin Diesel still seems like a blunt instrument more so in this film than the first one. He reminded me of his stiff character Toorop in Babylon A.D. I still have to love him. Paul Walker is such a cutie, but I just don’t understand why he doesn’t get more films or fans. I thought he was great in the movie Running Scared and the movie was real good too. They should have called it Gun instead because it was all about one gun.

Oh, and I didn’t know Brandon T. Jackson was in this film. You all know him. He’s the “true” black guy from Tropic Thunder. He says to Robert Downey JR.’s character that gets surgery to look like a black man, “What do you mean you people?” If you didn’t see the movie it’s okay, I’m sure you’ve seen the trailer for it.

Michelle Rodriguez (Battle in Seattle) is hard in her role as Letty Ortiz and Dom’s love thing. She’s the perfect person to play a woman who is rough, tough and yet very sexy.

All I know is, there are so many scenes that make you instantly say, “Yeah right.” However, if you are fan of the first Fast, than I suggest you should see this latest film. It leaves off five years after the original story and before Tokyo Drift the third movie. Just let this film be what it is, good action and nothing more.
