Watch the TrailerEvery scene had something in it for me to laugh about. Okay, yes. This is a true comedy! Every time I saw the trailer I cracked up and the movie just extended my laughter. Shoot, my cheeks hurt from grinning. I sit and think about certain scenes and just start smiling.
I have to just jump right into what it’s about. Here’s the Kermit the Frog version. Doug (Justin Bartha, National Treasure: Book of Secrets) is about to marry the love of his life. He and his groomsmen, Stu (Ed Helms, NBC’s The Office), Phil (Bradley Cooper, He’s Just Not That Into You) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis,What Happens in Vegas) do what most guys do before a wedding -- they have a bachelor party. However, they take theirs to Sin City two days before the wedding. Home dudes get an expensive suite and prepare themselves with a toast to a night they’ll never forget. Mmm hmm. Not only do they forget this magical bachelor night, the groomsmen wake up to a tragic mess of a suite with a Tiger, chicken, crying baby and missing tooth, but also there’s no sign of Doug.
The groomsmen go on an all out search for the groom while looking for clues to his whereabouts. The clock ticks while they put the pieces to the puzzle together and one obstacle/adventure after the other emerges.
Hangover had a wonderful cast that truly gelled great. Every character was hilarious in different ways –all with diverse personalities, yet truly seemed like friends. Even Mike Tyson brought some chemistry to the mix. His acting isn’t too good, but it’s not like the champ went to the school of the arts to hone an acting craft. He still added what he could to the movie. Every new character brought in was comical. I couldn’t wait to find out what their story was or how they were connected to the mystery of Doug's whereabouts.
This definitely brought adventure and danger with a smile. Shoot, everything was baffling. Can you imagine waking up tomorrow morning not know what the heck happened? Especially, if your tooth was missing and you looked a wreck.
Nothing’s better than a missing friend movie. You know it’s going to be funny and filled with complications along the way and of course you have the race against the clock. That adds the adrenaline rush.
I really don’t think I ever drank and woke up the next day not knowing ANYTHING about what happened the night before. I’m seriously thinking back. Nope…Nothing.
Okay, yes, it was all fun and games and a great story and entertaining flick, but there were some Marla “Come on now” moments. Like in the previews they show the home dudes driving a police car. Mmm hmmm. Yeah, right! Other than that…I give it a serious high five.
I really would like to see this again. I know if I did, I’d laugh at the same parts, which is pretty much every scene.
This is one good quality comedy. There’s NOTHING like one. I truly can see Hangover lasting in my mind two decades from now like the 80’s flicks Bachelor Party, Risky Business or 16 Candles. I won’t ever forget 16 Candles. A lot of movies I watch, I fail to remember. Hangover, has muscled its way in and found a spot in my memory bank for many years to come.
