Review

Very sweet movie. It was exactly what I thought it would be, every star getting a smidgeon of screen time, but just enough to tell a story. There is some negative buzz about this film and that made me enjoy it more thinking it wouldn’t be that good. It’s a great little flick for DVD. I do know it being Valentine’s Day weekend this film opens, a lot of the googley-eyed love birds will want to see it – mainly the females.

Valentine's Day comes marching in an all-star ensemble cast, which follows their interconnecting love lives through out one Valentine's Day. If you ask me, this day can make you a little nutso. If you don't have a valentine you may feel like a big goober, sad, alone and wanting just anyone to give you a card, a box of stale chocolates or even a dag on dandelion. If you do have someone, you may be running around feeling anxious that you have to buy the right gift. Or, you could just be one of the lucky ones that just truly enjoy the day with your proposal, anniversary, honey-bear, or secret admirer. There are so many categories you can fall under and someone is probably saying right now, "I'm in the I don't give a (#())(#) category."

Anyhoo, there were some corny scenes, but I suggest you don’t critique the film too much. Try to have fun with it and think of this as the little quirky Valentine’s Day movie that was out this year around Valentine’s Day.

There were some issues I had with the flick that just can’t go unnoticed or not mentioned. There were way too many characters. I think I only remember like 4 of their names. There’s Sean Jackson (Eric Dane, ABC’s Gray’s Anatomy). There’s Reed (Ashton Kutcher, What Happens in Vegas), and not sure if that’s his first or last name. There’s Morely or Marlie (Jessica Alba, The Love Guru) and Miss Fitzpatrick (Jennifer Garner, The Invention of Lying). Well, that’s it out of like 20 actors. Oh and there's Addison…some little boy I have no idea what else he’s played in.

This was a very pretty cast. And I bet pretty girls and boys will sell a picture whether the movie is excellent or not. Jennifer Garner is so cute. I could never see her playing a mean role. And, Jennifer Beal (Justin Timberlake's boo) not getting a Valentine with her looks and figure…please! Like that’s even possible. They try to plain Jane her down, but it didn’t work at all. I was surprised that Taylor Swift (Grammy winner) didn’t do too badly as a stuck up bubble brain high school chick. She actually made me giggle a few times. It shocked the smurf out of me.

This would have been a real good movie if perhaps just a few people or storylines were taken out of it and focus on the main characters more like Reed and his trusted buddy (George Lopez, The Spy Next Door). George just lights up a screen with his personality. I really like him.

I’m sure teen girls will love this flick. So, if this bit of information helps you understand what I mean, then go with that.
