MMM MMM MMM! Where do I begin? This reboot film had me wishing I had my heart rate watch on because the Lord only knows how fast my heart was racing when I watched The Incredible Hulk. When I saw the trailer 100 something times, I knew something was going to be different with this Hulk film. I have to be honest. I don't even really know if I should even mention this, but I never saw the first one. I heard so many horrible things about about it. The reviews were damaging and how can I forget the excitement that I felt when I heard they were making a movie from my SHOW, the Hulk series when I was a kid. I could not wait for the movie to come out, until I saw the trailer. I said to myself, "Ohhhh noooo they didn't." I was fit to be tied when they made the Hulk some big cartoony looking animated fake thing. What about my man Lou F? I just felt like from the time I heard they were making a Hulk movie, to the time I saw the trailer, I could not understand how they made my mouth water for food I was NEVER going to devour. Oh, but this second installment was good. Even my hubby said it was much better than the first.
Okay, Let me just run through the plot particulars so I can catch you up to speed. Don't worry, I won't spoil anything. Then, I will get back to the thick of things.
Scientist Bruce Banner (Edward Norton, Fight Club) flees the US and General Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt), while attempting to find a cure to get every green trace of the Hulk out of him. Of course Ross locates Banner in Brazil and it is on. After many months of Banner channeling his inner beast by utilizing breathing techniques, he is pushed to his anger and adrenaline limits and the transformation to the big green Hulk takes place. Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth, Reservoir Dogs) witnesses this incredible monster and is astonished and drips with envy. He wants some of what Banner has. He wants to be powerful and of course Ross has no qualms about making it happen because he wants Banner captured since he is a fugitive. But, Emil gets greedy. Being a ‘super soldier’ isn’t enough. He gets injected with Banner’s gamma formula from an over the top New York Scientist and Emil becomes an evil and fiercely stronger monster (Abomination) than the Hulk. The only way to fight the likes of Abomination is for Banner to increase his heart rate and release his inner demon -- the green monster.

Ed Norton did a great job as Bruce Banner. I really felt his emotions or rather the emotions he couldn't display else he'd turn into the Hulk. Ed is an excellent seasoned actor and he really captured my compassionate side. I understood Bruce, his goals, fears, and desires. This all carried over beautifully to the Hulk. The Hulk was mean and green and when he yelled it shook the entire theater, but I was on his side. There was no question as to who you rooted for. You know I don’t like to reveal too much in my reviews, but I was happy to see a special guest in the last scene. It was a smooth move. Marvel, is truly setting up something big. They have my mouth watering for what I know is about to come in a year or two. Just hold on to your fork, because the best is yet to come. What’s next in the Marvel Universe, Captain America, Thor? I don’t know, but these Superhero movies always make the moolah.

The Incredible Hulk is filled with action. The fight scene with Abomination in the streets of New York City is bananas. Abomination is UGLY and just NASTY mean. The strength this monster man has is crazy.
The Hulk on the big theater screen was HUGE. When he peered out into the audience and screamed, it felt like he was live right in front of me. It was powerful. The sound of his roar in the theater was almost deafening, but in a good way. This is the type of movie you want to hear on a booming system. I recommend going to see it at the theaters because the sound effects alone can rush excitement through your veins. Can you imagine if the Hulk was reel?
